Entering the performance phase, when the plot or music requires a scene change (e.g., switching from a "lyrical ballad scene" to a "dynamic dance scene"), the stage team can quickly execute scene change commands via the concert stage hoist controller. Taking the retraction of part of the lighting truss as an example, the technical staff operates the controller from the side stage, selects "Preset Scene 2" (pre-programmed parameters for lighting truss lifting), and triggers the hoist's forward rotation function - at this point, 3-5 associated stage hoists start synchronously, lifting the lighting truss steadily at a speed of 0.8-1 m/min (from the mid-low position of the stage to the high-altitude storage position of 8-10 meters).
The controller's "synergistic control module" balances the operating speed of each hoist in real time to prevent the truss from tilting due to uneven stress. Meanwhile, the "emergency stop button" on the concert stage hoist controller panel remains on standby; in case of emergencies (such as an actor accidentally entering the area under the truss), the operation command can be cut off instantly to ensure personnel safety. After the lighting truss is fully retracted, an open area of approximately 20-30 square meters is freed up in the center of the stage, reserving sufficient space for dancers' large-scale movements and the deployment of stage effect equipment (e.g., lifting platforms, flame projectors), which facilitates the rapid transition of the scene atmosphere.
In addition, during the operation of the controller, the technical team also utilizes its "fault early warning function" to ensure the smooth progress of the performance. For example, if the operating speed of a certain hoist becomes abnormal due to slight overload, the controller will immediately issue an audio-visual alarm, and at the same time, display the faulty hoist number and overload value on the screen (e.g., "Hoist 3: Load 115% of rated value"). The team can reduce the load of this specific hoist individually through the "single-unit fine-tuning mode" of the concert stage hoist controller, or activate a backup hoist to share the weight, thereby avoiding performance interruptions caused by equipment failures.
