Advantages of Limit Devices for Stage Hoists

The limit device of a stage electric hoist is a core safety component, with its key advantages including anti-overtravel/over-hoisting protection, equipment safeguarding, compatibility with high-precision stage control, and compliance & cost reduction.

Elimination of over-hoisting and falling risks: It triggers a precise power cut to prevent the hook from over-hoisting and crashing into the top, breaking the chain/wire rope, or causing the heavy load to fall, thereby directly protecting personnel and equipment safety.

Avoidance of cross-boundary collisions: It limits the lateral operation boundary of the hoist, preventing impacts on track stops or other equipment, and protecting the hoist body and track structure.

Dual redundant protection: Mainstream stage hoists adopt upper and lower dual-limit mechanisms or double independent protection systems (e.g., mechanical + electronic), which significantly reduce the risk of single-point failure.

Adaptation to special stage scenarios: When the hoist is installed in an inverted position, subjected to frequent start-stop operations, or running in multi-unit linkage mode, its limit device can stably prevent chain derailment and over-travel. It is particularly suitable for high-safety scenarios such as theaters and studios.
