The operating temperature range of polyester soft lifting slings is -40℃ to +100℃. However, in actual use, special attention should be paid to the following potential risk points to ensure the safety of lifting operations and the service life of the slings:
Regarding high-temperature thermal creep, this risk is particularly prominent in environments where the temperature continuously exceeds 80℃. The molecular structure of polyester fibers contains a certain proportion of crystalline regions, which are crucial for maintaining the strength and stability of the slings. When the temperature remains above 80℃ for a long time, the molecular chains in the crystalline regions will gradually decompose due to thermal energy, breaking the originally tight and orderly arrangement, causing the fibers to lose their original rigid support. This change is directly manifested as permanent tensile deformation of the polyester soft lifting slings - even after unloading, the slings cannot return to their original length, and their load-bearing capacity will decrease significantly. For example, when hoisting newly heat-treated parts in a high-temperature workshop, if the slings are in direct contact with the surface of the workpieces (the temperature may reach above 90℃), after continuous use for 1 hour, the elongation of the polyester soft lifting slings may exceed 5% of their original length, and this deformation is irreversible. Therefore, it is recommended that in high-temperature operating scenarios, thermal insulation gaskets must be installed between the slings and high-temperature objects, such as glass fiber gaskets coated with high-temperature resistant silica gel, to block heat transfer; at the same time, the single use time should be strictly controlled within 30 minutes to avoid irreversible structural damage to the fiber crystalline regions due to long-term heating, and reduce potential safety hazards caused by performance degradation of polyester soft lifting slings.
